Responding to Hurricane Helene
In late September 2024, Hurricane Helene tore across Florida and the mountains of western North Carolina, bringing more than 30 inches of rain.
The storm triggered catastrophic floods and landslides, damaged over 73,000 homes, and left entire communities cut off from essential services. With more than 100 lives lost, Helene became one of the deadliest U.S. storms of the 21st century.

In Greenville, SC, April Kummerle lost her home when floodwaters from Hurricane Helene left it unlivable. With the support of a local church and Fearless Works, her house was rebuilt in just 15 days, restoring not only her home, but also her faith and hope for the future.
